Dave Blackwell has had 4 years experience in Northland which involved:
- Agricultural Tutor for a leading Northland training establishment. This involved teaching agriculture (dairying) to level three. In addition tutoring horticulture and writing course material for NZQA horticulture to level three and four.
- Two years seconded under contract to Dairy NZ as consulting officer for lower Northland. This involved writing technical articles and facilitating farmer discusion groups.
- Delivering Growsafe® courses for a leading Northland agricultural training establishment.
- Farm consulting for one of Zealand’s leading corporate farmer owned companies. This involved feasibility assessment, budgets, cashflows, pasture management, feed budgeting, soil fertility and assistance with human resource issues.
- Facilitating liaison between farm owners their sons/daughters, employees and share milkers. Also experience in negotiating share milking contracts.
- Dave attended Massey University and was awarded a certificate in sustainable nutrient Management in NZ agriculture.
- Dave was involved in gathering data for MAFF under the Farm Monitroring Programme.
